Ady Rosario Ltd has submitted an application to Leeds City Council seeking a premises licence under the Licensing Act 2003 to permit the sale of alcohol at its supermarket located at Unit 24 Sugar Mill Business Park, Oakhurst Avenue, Beeston, Leeds. The application requests authorization for both on-site and off-site alcohol sales.
The proposed hours for alcohol sales are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The application was formally lodged under section 17 of part 3 of the Licensing Act 2003, which governs the granting of premises licences for licensable activities.
Leeds City Council has opened a consultation period allowing interested parties and responsible authorities to submit written representations regarding the application. Officials noted that knowingly providing false information in connection with the licensing application carries legal penalties, including an unlimited fine upon conviction.
The council’s final decision on the licence will take into account any representations received during the consultation period as well as compliance with statutory licensing objectives related to public safety, prevention of crime and disorder, and protection of children from harm.
