The Brisbane Lions have recorded a ninth consecutive year of membership growth, reaching 75,766 members within the first half of 2026. This milestone reflects a 38 percent increase in membership since the team’s appearance in the 2023 Grand Final against Geelong.
The club attributes this sustained rise largely to the loyalty and enthusiasm of its supporter base. Brisbane Lions chief executive Sam Graham described the members as the “backbone” of the club, highlighting their consistent presence at games both at the Gabba and venues nationwide. Graham emphasized the importance of fan support in motivating both the men’s and women’s teams.
Looking ahead, the Lions are preparing for a significant transition with plans to relocate to a new home ground at Victoria Park in 2033. The club has set an ambitious target to reach 80,000 members by the end of the current season, building on nearly a decade of steady growth.
This ongoing membership expansion underlines the strong community engagement surrounding the Brisbane Lions, reinforcing their position as a prominent team in Australian Football League (AFL) circles.
