Danny Batth has joined Millwall, reuniting with former manager Alex Neil. The 35-year-old centre-back, recently released by Derby County, signed with the Championship club following his departure.

Batth previously worked under Neil during their time together at Sunderland, where he played a role in securing promotion from League One. Over his career, Batth has been a consistent presence in the English Football League, contributing to multiple teams’ bids for success in the Championship and League One. His experience includes helping Sunderland and Norwich City reach the Championship’s top six, as well as assisting Blackburn Rovers and Derby County in play-off challenges.

Millwall, who finished third in the Championship last season, are looking to strengthen their squad with the addition of a seasoned defender. Steve Gallen, Millwall’s director of football, highlighted Batth’s leadership qualities, noting his influence both on and off the pitch. “Danny’s leadership and attitude will count for a lot, both on the pitch and in the dressing room,” Gallen said. “He’s a hugely experienced centre-back who’s earned respect throughout the game.”

Batth’s arrival adds depth and experience to Millwall’s defensive options as they prepare for the upcoming campaign.
