Blake Lively has filed a motion seeking more than $8 million in legal fees from Justin Baldoni in connection with their recent defamation lawsuit. Court documents submitted in New York outline Lively’s request for $7,495,526.87 in attorneys’ fees, along with an additional $539,514.01 to cover litigation costs and expenses.

The legal dispute stems from a defamation case initially brought by Baldoni, 42, against Lively and his production company, Wayfarer Studios. Baldoni had filed a $400 million suit, which was subsequently dismissed. According to Lively’s legal team, the extensive legal work undertaken was "comprehensive and necessary to achieve the complete win that was secured."

The filing emphasizes the significant media attention the case attracted, citing thousands of syndicated articles that contributed to the increased legal costs. It also notes that Lively has produced more than 7,000 documents throughout the litigation process. Her attorneys highlighted that Lively, 38, has consistently covered her legal expenses and intends to pursue any additional fees related to this matter.

U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman has directed Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios to respond to Lively’s fee request by July 13. The ongoing dispute marks another chapter in the legal battle following their work together on the film It Ends With Us.
