Lizzy and Georgia May Jagger, daughters of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, recently reflected on their close relationship, shared upbringing, and experiences in the fashion industry. Despite an age difference of nearly eight years, the sisters have maintained a strong bond rooted in childhood memories and family connections.
Lizzy Jagger, the elder sibling, recalls the excitement she felt upon Georgia’s birth, describing her as “a real baby doll to play with.” Growing up in Richmond, southwest London, Lizzy took on a motherly role, often pushing Georgia in her pram and watching her develop from a young age. Over time, their relationship evolved into one of mutual support, especially after both became mothers themselves, allowing them to relate through shared parenting experiences.
Though Lizzy acknowledges she is often the more playful one, Georgia has played a guiding role, particularly in their joint modelling ventures. Lizzy recounts an incident during a fashion show where Georgia encouraged her to adopt a more contemporary style of walking, highlighting the younger sister’s confidence and professionalism.
Both have continued to balance personal and professional lives while navigating family dynamics. Alongside sister Karis and six other siblings who share the same father, the Jagger family frequently gathers for major celebrations such as Mick Jagger’s birthday and holidays at their family home in Mustique. These occasions, which often include the cousins and children, can be lively and complex to coordinate.
Georgia moved to New York at 18 to live with Lizzy, who had already begun her modelling career there. The sisters later spent time together in Los Angeles before returning to London. They have maintained close contact and often reunite for significant events, including Glastonbury Festival in 2013 when the Rolling Stones performed. Lizzy described chasing festival organizers for a decade to secure the band’s appearance and recalled that watching the Stones from the edge of the stage before joining the crowd was a memorable experience.
Their relationship extends beyond work and family occasions. They frequently spend weekends with their siblings Jade and Gabriel at their mother’s home in Henley, enjoying a deep connection likened to a “telepathic bond.” However, time alone together without their sons has become a challenge since both became parents.
Reflecting on their childhood, Georgia shared that their mother used to dress them in matching outfits despite the age gap, and took them on trips to Texas to experience their maternal heritage. Lizzy remembers how she always looked after Georgia during their youth, including taking her on shopping trips and supporting her entry into modelling.
The sisters’ story illustrates a blend of familial loyalty, personal growth, and professional collaboration, underscoring how their early bond has evolved into a lasting partnership both on and off the runway.
