A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal in Tangail was expelled from the party after posting a critical comment about the home minister on social media. SM Rafiqul Bari, who held the position of senior joint convener of the Tangail’s Sakhipur upazila unit Jubo Dal, was removed from his post on Friday.

The party cited a violation of internal discipline, alleging that Rafiqul’s Facebook post included inappropriate remarks about the government and senior party leaders. In his post, Rafiqul stated, “I am mentally hurt. I want resignation of the home minister.” However, he did not provide further explanation or context for his call for the home minister's resignation.

Following his expulsion, Rafiqul has not publicly responded to the party’s decision. The incident highlights ongoing tensions within the party ranks and the leadership’s strict stance on dissent expressed through social media channels.
