Major UK supermarket chains have begun rolling out Christmas promotions well ahead of the holiday season, with festive items already appearing on store shelves. Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, and Morrisons have all introduced early seasonal products, including chocolates, biscuits, advent calendars, and other traditional treats.

Tesco's stores are featuring offerings such as Cadbury Christmas puddings, while Morrisons has installed "Countdown to Christmas" stands that include advent calendars and selection boxes. Sainsbury’s has stocked festive Bourbon Twists, and Asda has placed prominent signage wishing customers a "merry Christmas" throughout its stores.

This early launch comes as some shoppers express mixed feelings about the holiday season arriving before its traditional time. One customer remarked that with Christmas still 17 weeks away, it would be preferable to delay the festive displays until November.

Morrisons responded to such concerns by explaining their approach: "We start selling Christmas products a few months before Christmas because some of our customers like to plan in advance." This strategy aims to accommodate shoppers who prefer to organize holiday purchases early.

The early introduction of Christmas merchandise by major retailers highlights the evolving retail landscape, where extended promotional periods seek to capture consumer attention and spending well ahead of the holiday.
