A London man was found guilty on Friday at the Old Bailey of possessing information likely to be useful to terrorists and disseminating terrorist material. Shuja Gibraeel Mohsin, 20, from Mitcham, south-west London, was convicted of two counts related to sharing extremist content as well as possessing a document concerning plastic explosives.

Authorities revealed that Mohsin’s telephone contained a bomb-making manual alongside an execution video produced by the Islamic State, which he had sent to an online contact. Investigators also recovered a USB stick indicating Mohsin’s membership in multiple chat groups connected to extremist Islamist networks.

The Metropolitan Police described the evidence as demonstrating Mohsin’s involvement in spreading terrorist propaganda and accessing materials that could facilitate acts of terrorism. He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 14.

The case highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to monitor and prosecute individuals engaging in the distribution of extremist content and planning or promoting acts of violence.
