A Buddhist memorial service was held at the London Buddhist Vihara on Saturday evening to honor the victims of the recent natural disaster in Nepal and Tibet. The ceremony aimed to remember those who lost their lives and to offer support to affected communities.

The event was led by Ven. Bogoda Seelawimala Thera, Head Monk of the London Buddhist Vihara and Chief Sangha Nayake of Great Britain. He was joined by resident monks from the Vihara as well as monks from other Buddhist temples across London.

Representatives from the Nepali and Sri Lankan diplomatic missions in London attended the service, underscoring the event’s significance to both communities. Local supporters of the Vihara and members of the surrounding community were also present, participating in the observances and offering their solidarity.

The natural disaster, which impacted regions in Nepal and Tibet, resulted in significant loss of life and disruption to local populations. This memorial service reflects the wider Buddhist community’s efforts to respond compassionately to the tragedy and foster collective remembrance during a challenging time.
