French cosmetics company L’Oréal reported stronger-than-expected sales growth for the third quarter, driven by demand for luxury perfumes, skincare, and hair care products, particularly in China and other emerging markets. From July to September, the company’s sales rose 7.7 percent on an adjusted like-for-like basis, reaching €11.56 billion. This performance exceeded the 5.9 percent growth forecast anticipated by analysts in a Visible Alpha poll.
L’Oréal, known for brands such as CeraVe moisturiser and Prada perfumes, highlighted the resilience of the global beauty market despite broader economic challenges. Nicolas Hieronimus, the company’s chief executive, emphasized that the group continued to outpace overall market growth during this period.
The results indicate that consumer demand remains strong in key geographic areas, especially in China, which contributed significantly to the sales boost. The company credited this regional demand along with the rising popularity of high-end beauty and personal care products to its positive quarterly outcome.
While specific segment performance details were not disclosed, L’Oréal’s broad product portfolio, spanning multiple beauty categories, appears to have supported its steady momentum. The company’s ability to surpass market expectations reflects both operational strength and favorable consumer trends amid a complex global economic backdrop.
