Lorraine Kelly, the presenter of the ITV morning program "Lorraine," announced she will be taking a temporary break from the show. The 66-year-old Scottish broadcaster, known for periodically stepping away during school holidays and summer, confirmed she will be off the air "for a wee while." Christine Lampard has frequently served as her stand-in during these absences.
Kelly signed off her show recently by telling viewers she would miss them and promised to return "very, very soon." Her hiatus coincides with adjustments to ITV’s morning schedule, which includes extending the broadcast time of "Good Morning Britain" by 30 minutes each weekday until "This Morning" begins at 10 a.m.
As part of the network’s programming changes, Kelly’s show will be reduced from a one-hour format to 30 minutes and will transition to a 30-week seasonal schedule, moving away from its previous year-round presence.
Despite rumors about a potential move to another network, Kelly has publicly reaffirmed her commitment to ITV. The broadcaster’s efforts to restructure its morning lineup reflect shifting strategies in daytime television programming.
