An Indian-origin Uber driver in New York is seeking financial support to cover funeral expenses for his five-year-old daughter, who died after her mother allegedly confessed to killing her. Kuldeep Singh, based in New York City, launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $18,000 to pay for his daughter’s burial following a tragedy that has deeply affected the family.

Singh’s daughter, Fabiana Cabello, died on October 14. In his appeal, Singh expressed the profound loss he is experiencing and explained that he is struggling to meet the immediate costs demanded by funeral and burial services. He is continuing to work as an Uber driver using a rental vehicle while managing the emotional and financial burden.

On the evening of October 14, emergency services in Richmond Hill, Queens, received a call reporting an assault. The caller, identified by police as 32-year-old Francis Cabello, allegedly informed the 911 operator, “I killed my daughter.” When officers arrived at the residence at approximately 6:55 p.m., Cabello reportedly told them the child was unresponsive upstairs.

Police discovered Fabiana unconscious and bleeding from her nose. She was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Centre, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities arrested Francis Cabello and charged her with murder. The police have not released details regarding the events leading up to the emergency call.

A criminal complaint reviewed by People magazine indicated that an autopsy found abrasions on Fabiana’s face and petechiae—small hemorrhagic spots—in her eyes, heart, and lungs. These findings are consistent with asphyxia, suggesting a cause of death related to oxygen deprivation. Further investigation into the circumstances of the child’s death is ongoing.
