Former Manchester United forward Louis Saha has called on his former club to actively pursue Yan Diomande, the Ivory Coast winger currently playing for RB Leipzig. Diomande, 19, has attracted significant attention from top European clubs, with Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain both reportedly vying for his signature.

RB Leipzig appears intent on retaining the young talent, reportedly seeking to secure him on a new contract ahead of any potential transfer. The Bundesliga club’s valuation of Diomande, however, may complicate negotiations. While Liverpool is prepared to offer a package valued at up to £86 million, Leipzig is understood to be holding out for a fee in the region of £112 million.

Saha, who represented Manchester United from 2004 to 2008, suggested that United should try to exploit the ongoing interest in Diomande, effectively disrupting rival clubs’ efforts. “United should hijack Liverpool’s interest in Diomande, definitely,” Saha said in comments to Casinolyze.co.uk. He emphasized the modern game’s reliance on wingers of Diomande’s profile, comparing the 19-year-old to Barcelona’s highly regarded young talent Lamine Yamal.

At present, the competition for Diomande’s signature remains unresolved, with both Liverpool and PSG expressing strong interest while Leipzig aims to maximize the player’s transfer value and potential future contributions. The next steps will likely depend on how negotiations evolve over the coming weeks, including possible contract renewals or transfer agreements.
