Russell Crowe has arrived in Venice with his partner, Britney Theriot, to attend the premiere of his latest film at the Venice International Film Festival. The actor and Academy Award winner traveled to the event aboard one of the city’s iconic canal boats, highlighting the setting’s romantic atmosphere.
Crowe’s film, What Love Builds, is a documentary that marks his directorial debut. Rather than acting, he took charge behind the camera to tell the story of his rock band, Indoor Garden Party, and his enduring passion for music. The band previously performed in Sydney at the Enmore Theatre in December, featuring collaborations with notable musicians such as Troy Cassar-Daley and Marcia Hines.
Screening out of competition at this year’s festival, What Love Builds is the culmination of a 15-year project. Crowe characterizes the documentary as an intimate exploration of creativity, storytelling, and perseverance. The film offers a personal insight into his artistic journey beyond his established career in acting.
