Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Majchrzak have emerged as the frontrunners to win this year’s Love Island, according to a recent poll of viewers. The couple, who only recently confirmed they are “exclusively dating,” have attracted significant support despite Lorenzo’s earlier involvement in a love triangle with fellow contestant Jasmine Muller.
The poll, conducted among viewers ahead of the show's final airing tonight, showed 45 percent backing Lorenzo and Julia to take the crown. Jasmine Muller and her partner Kavan Murphy followed with 19 percent support, while nurse Angelista Gunda and NHS carer Simba Kudyiwa garnered 16 percent. Yasmin Hadlow and Tommy Stagg were placed fourth, according to the same poll.
Lorenzo, a Turkish Cypriot model, lost Jasmine’s affections in the early stages of the series but has remained a central figure. Julia, a Polish model, joined the show after Lorenzo’s time in Casa Amor and has impressed viewers with her style and appearance. Their on-screen relationship has drawn strong viewer interest despite some skepticism, with 21 percent of those polled predicting the couple will break up soon.
The show’s host, Maya Jama, is set to present the live final from the villa. Jama has faced criticism this season for her limited presence on the show, with 75 percent of the poll’s respondents saying she should have been more visible. Jama attributed her reduced screen time to producers’ decisions.
Beyond the contestants, industry figures have also weighed in on the season’s prospects. Edward Enninful, former editor of Vogue magazine, praised Lorenzo’s potential, drawing comparisons to former Love Island winner Molly-Mae Hague in terms of earning capacity and post-show career opportunities. Lorenzo’s background includes close ties to the celebrity and entertainment world, with his father Oz working as an MMA trainer and a bodyguard for artists such as Ne-Yo and Boyz II Men.
Julia has been noted for her high-fashion look, further supported by endorsements from figures connected to the fashion industry, including Vogue, which has highlighted the couple in recent coverage.
Viewers’ opinions about the motivations of Love Island contestants also surfaced in the poll. A majority of 83 percent believe participants join the show primarily for fame, while 11 percent think they are seeking financial gain. Only 6 percent expressed the view that most Islanders aim to find genuine romance.
The popularity of Love Island appears robust, with 70 percent of respondents rating this season as equal or superior to previous years. Additionally, viewer data shows the show has been streamed over 100 million times, indicating continued strong audience interest. When asked if dating shows are declining in popularity, only 24 percent of those surveyed agreed.
A recent twist in the competition saw the elimination of Mica Harris and Samraj Toor after a jury vote by the remaining cast. Soon after, the couple were tasked with selecting another pair for eviction, intensifying the competition as only three couples will advance to the finale. The poll was conducted while six couples remained in the villa, including the recently dumped pair Priya Jaswal and Aidan Murphy.
