Lucas Herbert claimed the LIV Golf United Kingdom Championship on July 26 with a commanding performance at JCB Golf & Country Club in Rocester, England. The Australian golfer finished the four-day event at 30-under-par 258, setting a new LIV Golf record for the lowest total score in the tournament’s history. Herbert carded a final-round 62, featuring 10 birdies, to secure a six-stroke victory over England’s Tyrrell Hatton, who closed with a 63 and finished at 24-under. Bryson DeChambeau ended third at 21-under after a 68 in the final round.

Herbert entered the final day with a three-shot lead over DeChambeau at 20-under following earlier rounds of 61, 66, and 69. His consistent and prolific scoring helped lead his team, Rippers GC, to a 52-under finish, securing a four-stroke margin over the Legion XIII squad captained by Jon Rahm. Herbert’s 30-under score also marked the lowest in LIV Golf history.

During the tournament, Herbert made 30 birdies—a new LIV Golf record—and combined 32 birdies and eagles, setting another league milestone. Speaking after his victory, Herbert credited his confidence to a strong showing at the Open Championship the previous week, where he tied for sixth at Royal Birkdale, finishing four shots behind winner Ryan Fox.

“Just wanted to really carry that into this week the best I could,” Herbert said. “I think I got out of my own way the first two rounds and I started thinking about it yesterday. It was just good to play like that today when I was being pushed by two of the best players in the world.”

Hatton responded positively despite falling short, highlighting Herbert’s outstanding play. “Obviously Lucas played amazing today,” Hatton said. “I wanted to get off to a fast start, which is what I did, but unfortunately Lucas did as well. Yeah, I’m very proud of how I played. It would have been amazing to win in front of home fans, but I tried my best. But actually Lucas was incredible this week.”

Australian Cameron Smith rounded out the top five with a 69 on the final day to finish at 17-under. This victory marks Herbert’s second individual win of the LIV Golf season, having previously won the LIV Golf Virginia event in May.
