Comedian Joe Lycett was the latest contestant to be eliminated from the reality series Celebrity Traitors during an episode aired recently, following a series of missteps that compromised his position in the game. Lycett, 38, had drawn unwanted attention by vocally expressing his eagerness to join the traitor faction, alerting fellow competitors to his intentions and ultimately putting himself at risk.
The removal came after Lycett’s loud declarations in the castle corridors prompted suspicion among the other participants. Despite his insistence that he was not responsible for betraying the group, his behavior led to his nomination and subsequent banishment at the round table vote. Upon his departure, Lycett reflected on his experience, stating that while he had hoped to switch from a faithful player to a traitor, he remained a faithful until the end. “Absolutely loved it,” he said. Fellow contestant Miranda Hart, 53, declined to cast a vote against him, expressing her emotional connection to the game and emphasizing the value of camaraderie and laughter beyond the competition.
In contrast to Lycett’s disappointment, new traitor Kenny, a 29-year-old YouTuber, embraced his role with enthusiasm. His initial assignment as part of the traitorous trio—including Maya Jama, 32, and James Acaster, 41—involved executing a staged “murder” by boring another contestant into feigned unconsciousness using a peacock bottle purportedly containing sleeping powder. Kenny remarked on the ironic nature of his immediate involvement in such a task, highlighting the dramatic tone of the game.
The show’s audience remains in suspense, with forthcoming episodes scheduled to reveal which contestant, between Jerry Hall, 70, and Ross Kemp, 62, will be the next to face elimination. The series continues to blend competitive strategy with theatrical challenges, maintaining viewer interest as the number of participants dwindles.
