The first cohort of Higher Diploma in Nursing students at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Lyceum Campus, began their clinical training at Kings Hospital Colombo on August 24, 2026, marking a significant advancement in their professional education. The Higher Diploma in Nursing (NVQ Level 6) program was established by Lyceum Campus in response to the increasing demand for skilled nursing professionals in Sri Lanka and the broader region. The partnership with Kings Hospital Colombo, a tertiary care facility equipped with advanced medical technologies and staffed by experienced clinicians, provides students with a structured environment for supervised hands-on learning.
Throughout their studies, students have engaged in a comprehensive curriculum that includes courses such as Fundamentals of Nursing, Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmacology, Adult and Pediatric Nursing, Community Health, Women’s Health, Geriatric Care, Psychiatric Nursing, Palliative Care, Research, and Nursing Management and Leadership.
