Mach Industries, a defense manufacturing startup focusing on advanced autonomous systems for the U.S. military and allied forces, has secured $600 million in additional Series C funding, raising its valuation to $3.7 billion. The financing round includes investments from Ribbit Capital, Infinite Capital, Bedrock Capital, and Sequoia.
Founded by CEO Ethan Thornton, Mach Industries aims to address the need for a modern defense industrial base capable of producing relevant technologies at the speed and scale required by current strategic demands. Thornton emphasized that the new capital will enable the company to accelerate the transition of new platforms from development to production.
The infusion of funds will support the advancement of platforms in key areas such as long-range strike and counter-unmanned aerial systems (counter-UAS), as well as expand Mach’s manufacturing capacity. The company is building a vertically integrated industrial base covering weapons platforms, propulsion systems, energetics, autonomy, and advanced manufacturing processes.
Mach operates a 115,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility located in Huntington Beach, California, complemented by additional propulsion, energetics, and production infrastructure elsewhere in the state. The company’s strategy involves developing a comprehensive defense industrial ecosystem that includes airframes, jet engines, solid rocket motors, energetic components, and autonomous systems.
This latest funding builds on Mach’s earlier Series C round, which raised $300 million and allowed the company to enhance its production capabilities for airframes and propulsion, as well as advance its mission systems. The establishment of Mach Energetics has further bolstered its testing and manufacturing operations.
With this expanded capital base, Mach Industries aims to solidify its position as a key player in the rapidly evolving defense technology sector by increasing output capacity and accelerating the deployment of innovative autonomous defense platforms.
