Former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has posted images purportedly showing him in a United States detention facility, where he has reportedly been held since his January capture. Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were taken by U.S. special forces in Caracas and transported to the United States.

The couple is currently detained at a facility in Brooklyn, New York, on charges related to drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms. Both Maduro and Flores have denied the allegations.

In a message shared on social media platforms X and Telegram, Maduro described the photos as a "small gift" to his grandchildren and supporters. He expressed resolve, saying, “I want you to know that we are standing firm, with our hearts full of your love.”

The U.S. authorities have not provided additional details regarding the circumstances of the operation that led to Maduro’s apprehension or the ongoing legal proceedings. The development marks a significant escalation in the tense relations between Venezuela and the United States.
