KUALA LUMPUR — The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) have formalized a new partnership to bolster efforts in preventing corruption and enhancing organisational integrity. The collaboration was solidified through a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) signed on Monday at MAF headquarters.

The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions, focusing on corruption prevention, information sharing, and improving governance practices within the armed forces. The MoC underscores ongoing efforts by MAF leadership to address vulnerabilities in organisational management, particularly in areas related to procurement and financial administration.

The signing ceremony took place at Ruang Perkasa, witnessed by Armed Forces Chief General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman and MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman. Defence Intelligence Director-General Leftenan General Datuk Fazal Abdul Rahman and MACC Intelligence Division Senior Director Datuk Saiful Ezral Arifin formally signed the pact on behalf of their respective agencies.

According to the MAF, this partnership reflects a mutual commitment to maintaining a clean, transparent, and credible armed forces. The cooperation also aligns with the second pillar of General Malek Razak’s directive, titled “Tatakelola Tuntas, Integriti Terpelihara” (Robust Governance, Preserved Integrity), which emphasizes the importance of competence and unwavering integrity among service members. The directive views integrity as a critical component of operational strength, while public trust serves as a central line of defence for the organisation.

The new memorandum is intended to offer a structured framework through which both organisations can collaborate more effectively, ensuring sustained efforts in upholding ethical standards and governance within Malaysia’s military institutions.
