KUWAIT CITY — The Ministry of Interior announced that a recent nationwide traffic enforcement campaign resulted in the issuance of 17,467 traffic violations, the impounding of 359 vehicles, and the seizure of five motorcycles. The Traffic Sector reported that the operations room handled 2,465 incident reports and recorded 1,166 traffic accidents during the same period, including 175 accidents leading to injuries.

The campaign focused on addressing common infractions such as speeding, illegal parking, lane drifting, and various vehicle-related violations. Authorities noted that these enforcement activities are being conducted at a sustained high tempo to enhance road safety.

As part of the crackdown, 42 individuals were detained, and seven juveniles were referred to specialized authorities for further intervention. Additionally, 32 wanted fugitives were apprehended and transferred to the appropriate legal bodies.

The Traffic Sector emphasized that these operations will continue on a daily basis with increased personnel deployment along major traffic arteries, strategic points, and key checkpoints throughout Kuwait. The ministry aims to maintain this heightened presence to curb violations and reduce traffic-related incidents nationwide.
