Several Malaysian companies were recognized for their sustainability efforts at the recent Malaysia ESG Awards, which highlighted achievements in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices across various sectors and company sizes.

Knight Frank Malaysia received a gold award in the category of Others – Sustainable Supply Chain for small and mid-tier enterprises. The award was accepted by ESG manager Wan Hannah Sofia Wan Abdul Halim alongside group executive chairman and ESG executive oversight Sarkunan Subramaniam.

Larkin Sentral Property Bhd secured a gold award in the Environment – Water Management and Efficiency category within the SME and mid-tier segment. The accolade was presented to Ainaa Syahira Mahat, head of the company’s administration and special projects department.

MM Century Sdn Bhd was recognized with multiple awards, including gold in Environment – Waste Management, Governance – Governance, Reporting and Transparency, and Others – Sustainable Products and Services. The company also earned a silver award in Others – Transformation, all within the SME and mid-tier classification. Operations Executive Director Ashok Kumar Rangayah accepted the trophies on behalf of the firm.

In the same SME and mid-tier category, SKB Shutters Manufacturing Sdn Bhd received a gold award for Environment – Renewable Energy. The honor was accepted by Executive Director Melissa Sin Tze Yi and her team.

Taylor’s Hostel Management Sdn Bhd, specializing in student accommodation, was awarded gold in Social – Relations with Local Communities and silver for Environment – Waste Management among SME and mid-tier companies. Senior Vice President Elaine Yap represented the company during the presentation.

Among larger companies, Alliance Bank Malaysia Bhd was granted a gold award in Others – Sustainable Supply Chain. Chief Sustainability Officer Roy Heong Beng Wai accepted the accolade with his team.

Heineken Malaysia earned two gold awards in the large company category for Environment – Water Management and Efficiency as well as Environment – Responsible Manufacturing. The company’s corporate affairs and legal director Renuka Indrarajah, corporate affairs head Shagivarnam G. Ratnam, and Managing Director Martijn Rene van Keulen were present to receive the awards.

The Malaysia ESG Awards aim to recognize businesses that demonstrate strong commitment and progress in sustainability practices, encouraging responsible corporate behavior across environmental, social, and governance dimensions.
