The Malaysian Embassy in Doha recently hosted a blood donation drive at the Qatar National Blood Donation Centre, aiming to encourage humanitarian support within the Malaysian community in Qatar. The event, conducted under the theme "Your Blood, Their Hope," was organized in partnership with the Malaysian Association of Qatar (MAQ), Qatar Blood Donation Services, and Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
The drive attracted close to 100 Malaysians living in Qatar who volunteered to donate blood, reflecting a strong sense of community engagement. Malaysian Ambassador Faizal Razali attended the event, where he was received by Salwa Mohammed al-Khamisi, director of the Blood Donation Centre. Also present were Dr. Mohd Faris Khamidi, president of MAQ, along with various embassy officials and members of the Malaysian expatriate community.
Ambassador Razali praised the participants for their contribution and emphasized the critical role of community solidarity in saving lives through such acts of generosity. He expressed gratitude toward the HMC, Qatar Blood Donation Services, MAQ, volunteers, and other collaborators for their cooperation in facilitating the successful execution of the campaign.
This blood donation initiative underscores ongoing efforts by Malaysian expatriates and health organizations in Qatar to contribute to humanitarian causes and strengthen cross-community partnerships in the region.
