Malvern Town and Frome Town have both secured new signings as they prepare for the upcoming campaign. Newly promoted Malvern Town has added forward Jay Malshanskyj to their squad, marking the first summer acquisition for manager Lee Hooper. The 24-year-old attacker joins from Bishops Cleeve, where he impressed at Step 4 level. Malshanskyj also brings experience from stints with Weston-super-Mare, Yate Town, Melksham Town, and Taunton Town.
Hillsiders boss Hooper expressed satisfaction at securing Malshanskyj, describing him as one of the top attacking players in Step 4 in recent seasons with significant potential for further development. Hooper noted that the club had pursued Malshanskyj on multiple occasions before finalizing the move.
Meanwhile, Frome Town, who have also achieved promotion, have strengthened their defense by signing young centre-back Ciaran Walsh. Walsh arrives at the Robins after spending five years with Forest Green Rovers, progressing through their youth system at New Lawn. The defender cited the club’s ambitions and values as key factors in his decision to join and expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the team’s success. Walsh indicated a strong desire to justify the faith placed in him by the club.
In related news, Shepton Mallet has acquired defender Emmanuel Athanasiou on a season-long loan, adding further options to their backline.
