A 75-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of upskirting a woman on a train traveling from Harrogate to York, British Transport Police (BTP) reported. The incident occurred on June 19 at approximately 5:20 p.m. as the woman was gathering her belongings in preparation to disembark.
According to BTP, the woman was informed that the man had taken photographs up her skirt. She confronted the suspect on the train and continued to do so upon reaching the platform at York station. The woman then alerted station staff, who contacted the police. However, the man left the station by bicycle before officers arrived.
The suspect was later apprehended and has been released on bail while further investigations continue, BTP confirmed on July 5. No additional details were provided regarding the ongoing inquiry.
