A 44-year-old man was charged with child abuse after reportedly striking two children aboard a Carnival cruise ship off the coast of Florida on Sunday. According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, David Crosby II was seen running down a hallway with three children when he abruptly stopped and punched two of them—one in the face and another in the stomach—while they were playing tag.

The attack caused a bloody lip and head pain to one child, though the ages of the children and any potential relationship between them and Crosby have not been disclosed. Authorities said the incident was recorded by the ship’s security cameras, providing clear evidence of the assault.

Crosby, described by law enforcement as “heavily intoxicated” at the time, told investigators he had no recollection of the event. He was subsequently taken into custody and booked into the Brevard County Jail. Crosby is originally from Georgia.
