A 46-year-old man charged with the murder of his former partner has died while in custody at HMP Edinburgh. Lee Greenan faced allegations in connection with the death of Vikki Soloman, 44, who was found with serious injuries at a residence on Craigievar Square in Edinburgh last Monday evening. Soloman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland confirmed that Greenan was found deceased in the prison early Sunday morning. A spokesperson stated the death occurred around 8:55 a.m. and that there were no indications of suspicious circumstances.
The Scottish Prison Service issued a statement acknowledging the tragedy of any death occurring in custody or the community and noted that following such incidents, Police Scotland are notified and the matter is reported to the procurator fiscal for further investigation.
Authorities have not provided additional details regarding the cause of Greenan’s death. The case remains under review as investigations continue.
