A 76-year-old man has been charged with concealing his face with a mask during an anti-immigration demonstration in Portsmouth. Timothy Miller, from Southampton, was arrested as hundreds of people participated in the march on Saturday.
Police had previously issued warnings that individuals wearing face coverings at such events would be arrested following incidents involving masked participants in Portsmouth and Dover the previous weekend. Miller is scheduled to appear before Portsmouth magistrates today.
Two other individuals detained during the demonstration—a man and a teenage boy—are set to appear in court at later dates. Authorities continue to monitor such gatherings closely to enforce regulations related to public order and identification.
