Clifford Foster, 61, has been formally charged with the murder of Eleanor Barnfield, a 47-year-old housing officer, according to South Wales Police. Barnfield was found seriously injured following a car collision on Monday in Bridgend and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities reported that Barnfield’s vehicle had collided with a wall; however, her injuries included puncture wounds that were not linked to the traffic accident. Foster is scheduled to appear before Newport Magistrates’ Court on the day of the charge announcement.

The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to gather evidence surrounding the circumstances of Barnfield’s death.
