A 38-year-old man was fatally shot during a fight inside a business on the 2100 block of South Washtenaw Avenue in the South Lawndale neighborhood on Monday, Chicago police reported. The incident occurred around noon, prompting emergency responders to transport the injured man to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from gunshot wounds to the chest.

In addition to the fatality, a 49-year-old man was also injured in the altercation and taken to Saint Anthony Hospital with facial injuries; his condition has not been disclosed. Authorities have not reported any arrests in connection with the shooting. The circumstances leading to the fight remain under investigation.
