A 70-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in the Bronx early Monday morning, according to police. The victim was crossing Morris Park Avenue near East Tremont Avenue in the West Farms neighborhood when he was struck by a driver traveling northbound in the southbound lane at approximately 5:55 a.m. Authorities said the driver did not stop after the collision and fled the scene.

Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin. Law enforcement officials are currently searching for the driver but have not provided a description of the vehicle involved.
