A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of Mark Cullen, 39, which occurred in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin, on July 5. Cullen died after being shot in the leg at Patrician Park, Kill Avenue, in an incident believed to have been a punishment shooting that went wrong.
Gardaí previously detained a man in his 30s the day following the shooting, but he was later released without charge. The latest arrest took place on the morning of September 10, and the individual is currently being held at a Garda station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. A Garda spokesperson confirmed that inquiries are ongoing as part of the probe into the fatal incident, which remains under active investigation.
