Jed Grieve has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a man in Newcastle. Grieve, 33, appeared via video link from prison during a hearing at Newcastle Crown Court, where he denied the charge of murdering 25-year-old Gino Robb on June 16 in the Byker area.

Robb was found wounded on Shields Road following reports of a stabbing. He initially sought medical help at The Raby pub nearby before being transported to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary, where he later died from his injuries.

Alongside Grieve, two youths aged 14 and 16, whose identities are legally protected, have also been charged in connection with the incident. However, the court did not formally put the murder charge to the two youths during the hearing.

All three defendants face trial, which is scheduled to begin on January 12 of next year with a three-week estimate for proceedings. Additional pre-trial hearings are set for October and December. Grieve resides on Orpington Avenue in the Walker district of Newcastle.
