A 41-year-old man was wounded in a shooting incident at a petrol station in Bidor town on Tuesday evening. The victim was a passenger in a white Toyota Land Cruiser that had stopped to refuel when two gunmen opened fire.
According to Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin, a black Honda City approached the Land Cruiser from the direction of Bidor. Two armed men exited the Honda City and fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to his left shoulder; his condition was reported as stable.
There were five other occupants inside the Land Cruiser, all of whom were unharmed. The injured man initially received treatment at Hospital Tapah before being transferred to a hospital in Ipoh and subsequently moved to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for further care.
Police forensic teams at the scene recovered a 9mm Luger bullet, four 9mm Luger casings, and several bullet fragments. Bullet marks and fragments were also found on the vehicle.
Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from various locations, including routes around Bidor and nearby toll plazas, to aid in identifying the suspects. An investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
