A 55-year-old man has admitted causing the death of a pensioner through dangerous driving following a high-speed car theft in Broughty Ferry, near Dundee. Fraser Garden, who has no fixed address, stole a Maserati from a local car showroom on April 13.

After taking the vehicle, Garden drove at speeds reaching up to 85 mph through the town, losing control and crashing through a hedge. The collision resulted in the death of 74-year-old John Bell. Garden is expected to receive a lengthy prison sentence as a consequence of the incident.

Details about the court proceedings and sentencing timeline have not yet been released. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the theft and subsequent crash.
