Saul Vargas, a 21-year-old man from St. Cloud, Florida, turned himself in to the Bronx Police Department early Friday after being identified as a suspect in the vandalism of a taxi in Manhattan. The incident occurred following the New York Knicks’ dramatic victory in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

According to law enforcement officials, Vargas was among a group of individuals who damaged the vehicle by jumping on its hood and roof and shattering its windows. Authorities arrested a total of 56 people in connection with various disturbances related to the postgame celebrations.

Vargas surrendered at the 42nd Precinct station house after learning he was wanted for his alleged role in the destruction. He was charged with one count of criminal mischief. Police did not provide further details regarding the specific actions Vargas took during the incident.
