Jonathan Andic, the 45-year-old son of Mango founder Isak Andic, was arrested in northern Spain in connection with his father’s death last December. Isak Andic, aged 71, died after falling approximately 500 feet from a cliff during a hiking trip near Barcelona. Jonathan Andic was the sole witness to the incident.

The initial investigation into the circumstances of Isak Andic’s death was closed shortly after the incident but was reopened in March 2025. By October, authorities had reclassified the case as a possible homicide. Following his arrest, Jonathan Andic was taken to court facilities in Martorell, according to a spokesperson for Mossos d’Esquadra, the Catalan regional police.

Isak Andic, originally from Turkey, founded Mango in 1984 when he opened the company’s first store in Barcelona. The fashion retailer has since grown into one of Spain’s largest, with around 2,900 stores worldwide. Jonathan Andic serves as vice chairman of the board at Mango and is among his father’s heirs.

Details regarding the nature of the allegations or evidence against Jonathan Andic have not been released. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal fall.
