A resident of Greenock, Inverclyde, is living with a severe wasp infestation in his flat that has forced him to abandon the use of his bedroom. Craig McDonald, 38, reports that thousands of wasps have been swarming his home for the past two weeks, resulting in multiple stings to himself and his two dogs and cat.

McDonald described the situation as ongoing and distressing. He said the insects appear to be nesting in the roof space above his bedroom, making the room unusable. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the problem, the pest issue persists.

According to McDonald, his landlord, Oak Tree Housing Association, initially dismissed the possibility of a wasp nest due to the time of year. The housing association subsequently arranged for pest control services to attend the property, but McDonald claims these efforts have failed to remove the infestation.

The tenant expressed frustration with the lack of resolution, emphasizing the need for prompt action to address the hazardous environment.

Oak Tree Housing Association acknowledged the issue and stated that it is working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. The landlord did not provide specific details on the steps being taken but assured that the matter is being addressed.
