Uterine cancer ranks as the fourth most common cancer among women in the United States, with over 69,000 new cases and nearly 14,000 deaths reported in 2025. Endometrial cancer (EC), which constitutes approximately 90% of uterine cancer diagnoses, remains a critical focus for early detection efforts due to its improved prognosis when identified at an initial stage.

To address the need for greater awareness, pharmaceutical company Eisai recently launched the Spot Her® For EC initiative. The campaign seeks to educate women on recognizing the signs and symptoms of endometrial cancer and encourages timely medical consultation. Many women with EC report feeling stigmatized or dismissed by healthcare providers when discussing their symptoms, while others may mistakenly consider their experiences as normal, underscoring the importance of public education.

Symptoms associated with endometrial cancer can include abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge, irregular or heavy menstrual periods before menopause, pelvic pain or pressure, and unexplained weight loss. Since these symptoms can be subtle or confused with other health issues, medical evaluation is advised for any concerning changes.

Spot Her® For EC also highlights several risk factors linked to the disease. These include obesity and diets high in fat, type 2 diabetes, advancing age, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), prior hormone therapy, and a personal or family history of Lynch syndrome, a hereditary condition associated with elevated cancer risk.

The initiative works in collaboration with leading patient advocacy groups to provide educational resources and support to women affected by endometrial cancer. By promoting open discussions about gynecologic health and increasing symptom awareness, Spot Her® For EC aims to empower women to seek earlier diagnosis and intervention, potentially improving treatment outcomes.
