Trainer Marco Botti celebrated a significant victory as his filly Pensando A Te captured the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at Newmarket. Ridden by Silvestre De Sousa, the two-year-old filly secured the win by overtaking the 5-2 favourite Light Of Dawn in the closing stages of the race. Pensando A Te entered the event with starting odds of 15-2 and has since been priced at 20-1 for the upcoming 1,000 Guineas.

Botti expressed satisfaction with the filly’s performance, highlighting the importance of her development at this stage of the season. He noted that although there were concerns about advancing her too quickly during the campaign, Pensando A Te demonstrated promising ability and composure, particularly her capacity to settle within the pack during the race. This, he suggested, indicated that she could effectively handle longer distances, such as the one-mile 1,000 Guineas.

Acknowledging the filly’s pedigree, Botti remarked on the speed evident in her bloodline but was encouraged by her stamina shown in the Rockfel. He described the victory as a positive sign for her potential as a Classic contender and outlined plans to continue her preparation through the winter before targeting a Classic trial race early next season.

Pensando A Te’s success adds to Botti’s growing reputation for training high-caliber juvenile fillies, and her performance at Newmarket positions her among the leading prospects for one of Britain’s premier races for three-year-old fillies.
