Australian actress Margot Robbie has purchased a $28 million (approximately £20.8 million) property near her childhood home in Currumbin Valley, Queensland, marking the most expensive residential sale on record in the state. The purchase was finalized in June of last year, according to property records.

The six-bedroom ranch, known as Redwood, is situated on seven acres of land on the Gold Coast and features modern architecture characterized by extensive glasswork and multiple balconies. The estate includes six bathrooms, a swimming pool, stables, a tennis court, and parking facilities for up to ten vehicles.

Robbie, who rose to international prominence after starring in television series "Neighbours" and later moving to Hollywood, reportedly made a significant portion of her wealth from her lead role and producing credits in the 2023 film "Barbie." The film grossed $1.4 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing movie of that year and one of the most successful films in history. This year, she also starred in and produced the film adaptation of "Wuthering Heights," alongside Jacob Elordi.

The purchase represents a return to the region where Robbie spent her formative years. In a 2019 interview, she recalled growing up in Currumbin Valley, describing a childhood surrounded by natural elements such as camphor laurel trees. She contrasted this upbringing with experiences of friends from urban centers like New York City and London.

Robbie maintains residences in Los Angeles, London, and Australia. She relocated to London in 2013 during the filming of "Suite Française," where she began her relationship with Tom Ackerley. The couple married in 2016 and welcomed their son in 2024. Hampton currently splits her time between these locations alongside her husband.
