The Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore (MBCCS) will spotlight local art and performances as part of a new three-year collaboration between its operator, SATSCreuers Cruise Services, and the National Arts Council (NAC). The initiative aims to enhance the cruise terminal experience by integrating cultural elements into the venue.

Under the partnership, visitors can expect live music performances during peak cruise times, including major festive seasons and local school holidays. In addition, murals featuring multicultural storytelling themes will gradually be introduced on the centre’s wall spaces, offering passengers a richer engagement with Singapore’s diverse heritage.

Gregory Tan, chief executive of SATSCreuers, indicated that the collaboration is intended to extend the reach of Singapore’s local arts community while providing meaningful opportunities for home-grown talent. The partnership expands on existing artistic features at the terminal, including “Manifest,” a mural by local artist Eunice Hannah Lim. This work connects Singapore’s maritime history with its cultural identity and is complemented by an animated version displayed at the terminal entrance. Key motifs such as sea creatures and maritime symbols invite reflection on the city-state’s long-standing relationship with the ocean.

Lynette Pang, deputy CEO of NAC, highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for Singaporean artists to present their work to new audiences. She said that incorporating the arts into unconventional locations like MBCCS allows travellers to engage with the nation’s cultural diversity as part of their journey, thus fostering a deeper appreciation through artistic perspectives.

The MBCCS recently completed a $40 million upgrade in October 2025, which significantly increased its passenger handling capacity from 60,800 to 117,000. The infusion of local art and performances is expected to complement this expanded capacity by enhancing the overall visitor experience.

SATSCreuers and NAC have indicated that this collaboration is the first of several planned efforts to bring more works by local artists to the terminal in the coming years, further integrating Singapore’s creative community within the maritime hub.
