Qatar has announced the full reopening of its waters to maritime navigation, allowing all types of vessels and ships to operate normally starting Sunday, July 26, 2026. This decision restores uninterrupted movement for commercial shipping, fishing fleets, marine services, and recreational users across the country’s maritime zones.

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) issued the announcement following a phased easing of restrictions that were initially imposed in response to a regional security crisis. Earlier in the week, navigation was permitted to resume within a marine range of approximately seven nautical miles, covering areas from Lusail City and Hamad Port to Umm Heesh and Doha Salwa. Under the current lifting of measures, these limitations no longer apply, enabling full maritime activity throughout Qatar's waters.

The ministry emphasized the necessity for all vessel operators and seafarers to comply strictly with existing maritime regulations and operational guidelines. It also highlighted the importance of ensuring that safety and security equipment are present and fully operational before departure and throughout each voyage.
