American actor Mark Feuerstein is set to travel to Israel in the coming days to begin filming "Midair," a new action thriller series slated for broadcast on the Israeli satellite network Yes. The production is a collaboration between Paramount’s Ananey Studios, KODA, and Jaya Entertainment.
"Midair" centers on a high-stakes narrative involving a fighter jet carrying a mysterious weapon over Israeli airspace. The story follows the pilot and combat navigator, portrayed by Aviv Alush and Gal Malka, as they strive to maintain control of the aircraft. Meanwhile, a ground team led by a CIA agent, played by Feuerstein, races against time to prevent a potential disaster. The series unfolds against a backdrop of political tension and geopolitical instability, blending aerial action sequences with elements of intelligence and espionage thriller.
Feuerstein, widely recognized for his role as Dr. Rajiv Shah on the television series "Royal Pains," brings a varied acting background to the project. His past roles include appearances in "The West Wing," "Prison Break," and "Lady in the Lake," as well as playing a rabbi turned gunslinger in the recent film "Guns & Moses."
The series was created by Israeli writers Kobi Rabi, Ram Landes, and Yizhar Har-Lev. Ilan Aboudi serves as the director, while Har-Lev is the head writer, supported by Rabi, Landes, and Aurit Zamir on the screenplay team. The storyline’s topical nature resonates in light of recent events involving an attempted hijacking in the region, adding immediacy to the series’ exploration of security threats.
Filming is expected to take place primarily in Israel, underscoring the local setting and geopolitical context that shape the narrative. The involvement of both Israeli and American talent highlights the international scope of the production.
