Elliott Kaye, known for his previous venture Norman’s Cafe, is set to open Marrion’s Bar in Hackney later this month. The new establishment aims to offer late-night dining and drinks, positioning itself as a local venue open later than others in the area, with hours extending until midnight or 1 a.m.

Marrion’s Bar will feature a menu described by Kaye as “European-American,” including dishes such as moules frites, pork-chop Holstein, and tuna melts. The Sunday offering will shift towards brunch-style fare, highlighted by items like bagels and vodka-baked eggs. This culinary approach continues Kaye’s focus on approachable, nostalgic food, characterized by simplicity and generosity. At Norman’s Cafe, Kaye gained attention for high-quality takes on traditional working-class dishes, often producing items in-house, including sauces and other components. He intends to carry this ethos forward with Marrion’s.

In addition to the food, the bar will emphasize a “fun and unpretentious” drinks program. Although the venue’s Instagram presence is currently limited, Kaye confirmed that social media will play a key role in the marketing strategy. An Instagram account under the handle @marrionslondon is active but contains minimal content so far, reflecting Kaye’s deliberate choice to withhold details ahead of the launch.

Marrion’s Bar represents a continuation of Kaye’s exploration of casual, familiar dining experiences that balance quality with accessibility, building on the cultural conversation sparked by Norman’s Cafe’s reinterpretation of “greasy spoon” fare. The new location is poised to attract a late-night crowd seeking a relaxed atmosphere paired with distinctive food and drink offerings in this East London neighborhood.
