The match was abandoned after just 16 minutes of play due to deteriorating weather conditions rendering the pitch unplayable. Referee Adam Waston halted the game shortly after the visitors scored what would have been the only goal, as the waterlogged surface caused the ball to hold up.

Ben Dufton-Kelly, who had already found the net earlier in the week, scored again during the brief period before the stoppage. However, immediately after the goal, Waston summoned the team captains, Sam Adewusi and Jacson Coppack, to inform them that the match would be called off.

Despite the abbreviated contest, the home side Wythenshawe created two notable scoring opportunities. Josh Dickin forced a save with a long-range shot that was pushed wide by goalkeeper Jack Atkinson. Later, Joel Mumbongo made a strong run from the halfway line, prompting another excellent save to keep the scoreline intact.

The premature ending means the result will not stand, with the fixture expected to be replayed under improved conditions at a later date.
