The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is leading a delegation of six prominent Malaysian Oil & Gas Services and Equipment (OGSE) companies to the 2026 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC), held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the United Arab Emirates. This participation highlights Malaysia’s efforts to expand its export presence in the OGSE sector and strengthen energy partnerships in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Malaysia boasts a robust supply chain with more than 1,800 active OGSE companies, many of which have established track records in the Middle East market. ADIPEC is regarded as a significant platform for Malaysian companies seeking to deepen their market access and promote innovation and sustainability in energy operations, aligning with the global energy transition.

Petroleum-related products remain a vital component of Malaysia’s trade economy, ranking as the country’s second-largest export sector. From January to September 2026, exports of petroleum products were valued at approximately $24.37 billion, accounting for 6.3% of the nation's total exports. Malaysia’s presence at ADIPEC reflects both the resilience of its OGSE industry and its pursuit of new growth opportunities amid evolving global energy dynamics.

Malaysian oil and gas companies offer comprehensive capabilities across the entire energy value chain, including offshore and onshore fabrication, conceptual engineering, marine repair and conversion, as well as specialised drilling management. Despite shifts in the global economic landscape, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the broader MENA region remain key strategic markets. MATRADE emphasizes its commitment to fostering sustainable market access and high-value partnerships for Malaysian service and equipment providers.

Since 2014, MATRADE has consistently participated in ADIPEC, and 2026 marks its 12th consecutive showing. The six Malaysian companies in attendance will showcase a range of advanced technologies, including hardware-integrated digital solutions such as intelligent battery monitoring systems and digitally tracked gas equipment designed to reduce leakage. Demonstrations will also feature established mechanical innovations, including portable machining, maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) solutions, and environmentally conscious drilling fluids.

Additionally, MATRADE facilitates direct connections between global buyers and Malaysia’s broader ecosystem of specialised technologies supporting the oil and gas sector, including artificial intelligence, drone applications, and data analytics. Through these efforts, Malaysia aims to solidify its position as a reliable and competitive supplier of engineering services, equipment, and technical expertise within the global energy marketplace.
