Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) is set to gain heightened attention over the coming months as it hosts the Maybank Championship on the LPGA Tour from October 29 to November 1. Recognized as a leading golf venue in Asia, KLGCC will also be featured prominently in the Maybank Asean Golf Getaway, a regional golf tourism initiative.

The Maybank Championship is expected to attract golfers and enthusiasts throughout the Southeast Asian region. Fairways will be maintained at 13 millimeters, while the rough is set at 44 millimeters, raising the level of difficulty and demanding accuracy and consistency from players.

Though the course layout remains unchanged, firmer greens and fairways will increase the championship challenge, rewarding those with disciplined course management and precise iron play, according to Nizam.

In conjunction with the Maybank Asean Qualifier, the club hosted the Maybank Championship Experience, a program designed to offer Maybank clients an immersive behind-the-scenes engagement with the tournament. This included exclusive activities with LPGA professionals and tournament partners, aiming to strengthen connections within the golfing community ahead of the event.
