Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort in Morocco has become the first golf destination outside Asia to join the Asian Tour Destinations network, marking the organization’s first expansion beyond the continent. This development highlights the resort’s growing prominence on the international golf circuit and underscores its appeal as a multifaceted luxury tourism destination.

Located near El Jadida on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, approximately six kilometers from the city and about an hour’s drive from Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport, Mazagan spans 250 hectares. The resort offers an array of amenities blending traditional Moroccan architecture with modern design, featuring elements such as arches, decorative motifs, landscaped gardens, and expansive open spaces—all with views of the ocean and surrounding scenery.

The resort’s 18-hole golf course, designed by renowned golfer Gary Player, stretches 6,885 meters, making it the longest course in Morocco. It features multiple tee positions to accommodate various skill levels, and it also includes a golf academy. The course’s location along the coastline provides golfers with scenic Atlantic Ocean views and a playing experience characterized by sand dunes, greenery, and sea breezes.

Mazagan recently hosted two consecutive professional golf tournaments during the summer under the auspices of the Asian Tour and the Asian Development Tour (ADT). These events demonstrated the resort’s capability to host major competitions and helped secure its membership in the Asian Tour Destinations network. Currently, Mazagan ranks 13th among the network’s member destinations.

The resort caters to a wide range of guest interests beyond golf. It offers nearly 500 rooms and suites, many with ocean-facing views, and a diverse culinary scene with 15 restaurants and bars serving Moroccan, Mediterranean, French, Middle Eastern, and Asian cuisines. Dining options include traditional Moroccan fare at Al Firma, seafood specialties at Sel de Mer, and contemporary Middle Eastern dishes at Bushra by Buddha-Bar.

Recreational offerings at Mazagan extend to activities such as horse riding, cycling, tennis, go-karting, rock climbing, zip-lining, paintball, and various water sports along the Atlantic coast. For relaxation, guests can enjoy multiple swimming pools, a fitness center, and a spa featuring treatments inspired by traditional Moroccan hammam rituals.

Families are accommodated with dedicated children’s clubs—the Kidz Club for ages 3 to 10 and the Rush Club for teenagers 11 to 17—providing age-appropriate activities that enable parents to partake in other resort experiences. In the evenings, visitors can also access a casino facility that includes 36 gaming tables, 390 slot machines, a VIP area, and a restaurant, reflecting the resort’s broad entertainment offerings.

Mazagan’s appeal lies in its ability to combine a variety of activities and experiences within one location, framed by its distinctive Moroccan character and coastal setting. From mornings on the beach to rounds of golf and evenings of fine dining, the resort positions itself as a comprehensive holiday destination on the global tourism and sporting map.
